• Nicholas Herndon
    Executive Director
    Nicholas Herndon currently serves NCALC as the Executive Director. He joined the company in 1999 and has had several different roles within the organization. He started out working as direct care in Durham Home, which was the company’s Level 4-I children’s home. About 1 ½ years later he became a supervisor, and a year later, he became the house manager. Throughout the years he became increasingly invested in the ongoing wellness of the home’s residents as they grew and entered supported living environments. The scope of Nicholas’ responsibilities expanded to include management of both the Durham Home and the SLS homes. In 2006 Nicholas resigned from his position, but continued to assist and advise the company as a volunteer Board member. In 2010, he resigned as Vice President of the NCALC board to take on the position of SLS Director in Chico. During that time he oversaw the SLS supervisory team and is involved in several key committees, including Quality Assurance, and has also earned certification as a Professional Crisis Management Association instructor. In January of 2017 he was offered the Executive Director role and looks forward to help guide NCALC's future.
  • Donald Pierce
    CFO
    Donald serves NCALC as Chief Financial Officer and has been with NCALC since 1999. Originally brought into the organization as Controller, Donald has been, and still is, often called upon to support the organization in the areas of Human Resources and Technology. Donald graduated from CSU, Chico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and worked over ten years with increasing responsibilities for a local waste management firm; he also served as CFO with a magazine before joining NCALC. Donald is a transplant from Alabama, has been married to his wife for over 24 years, and has two adult children. He enjoys tennis, fishing, and has coached youth baseball, basketball, and softball.
  • Angie Salo
    SLS Regional Manager - Mendocino County
    Angie started with NCALC as one of her first jobs out of High School. She started at Meadowview in 1996 and worked a year before moving to a similar agency for two years. After trying other things and having her daughter, she came back to NCALC in 2007 and worked in Ukiah SLS. In 2011 she was promoted to SLS Supervisor and has found her niche. In October 2015 Angie was promoted to SLS Regional Manager. Angie loves life! At work, at home with her family and on her Jet Ski. She looks forward to many years of supporting the wonderful people we support.
  • Viola Forge
    SLS Regional Manager - Butte County
    Viola Forge began her journey with NCALC in 2008 as a direct care staff member. In March of 2010, Viola was promoted to Supervisor for supportive living in Chico. Her history demonstrates an active concern for others - in 1995, she graduated from Orland High School and then attended College majoring in biochemistry. In 1997, she moved back to Orland and became a teacher’s aide for Head Start. In 2000, Viola obtained certification as a nursing assistant and worked in residential, sub-acute, and acute care settings. After the birth of her first child, Viola looked for a position that allowed more flexibility, and began working in a group home for developmentally disabled adults that had severe behavioral issues. While working there, Viola discovered the field that she now calls her career. In January of 2017 she was promoted to SLS Regional Manager of Butte County.
  • Bryan Rime
    SLS Supervisor - Butte County
    In February of 2014 Bryan started working at NCALC as a direct care staff member. What started as a job quickly became a passion. In June of 2016, Bryan was promoted to supervisor for supportive living in Chico where he continues his journey in this field.
