We Love Our Team
06/18/2013

On June 18th, we, along with persons we support, treated staff to a wonderful dinner here in Chico.

It isn’t often we can get a group together – our team is comprised of many students and folks with families of their own – but whether or not every team member could join us, we want EVERYONE to know how vital their work with us is, and how important they are as ambassadors  to community life for those  we support.

We would also like to acknowledge the generous donations of family members and others who provide the resources for occasions like this…THANK YOU!

Spring Has Sprung!
04/08/2013

The Easter/Passover holiday season came early this year, which is fine by us! Folks in Ukiah and Chico are "digging" the milder weather and, as Josh demonstrates with  team-member Austin, "digging into" it too!  It's still  pretty cool outside some days, but those steady warm-to-hot ones are on their way, so stay safe. Don't forget the hat and suncreen, especially on late morning and afternoon outings.

Congratulations to Hannah – (and Welcome, Maly)
01/24/2013

It’s with mixed feelings we announce that Hannah Williamson has accepted a position for which she is uniquely and very well-qualified – as County Veteran’s Service Officer. Hannah is herself a veteran, and considering her background, energy, and will to “get-it-done” there is surely no better candidate for the position she now holds.

She started her new role Christmas Eve, but has still managed to help us here and there until we get reorganized. We are grateful for this, but it’s characteristic of Hannah to be sure our transition is smooth. Her love and  concern for all of us at NCALC, including those we support has been a constant around here – and we miss it.

Speaking of transitions, we now have a new file clerk, Maly (pronounced “Molly”) Perez, to help Donald manage his large workload.  Considering the pile of paperwork Donald deals with, it’s a BIG job, but one Maly takes on with a smile and a great attitude.

Maly, we’re glad you’re here.

Happy Holidays
12/19/2012

Closing out this year, we can’t think of a more fitting way to encourage everyone to share the joy of season than to share this photo of Colin and one of his friends. We think Colin’s expression says it all! The holiday season reminds us to take a few moments to deeply enjoy and cherish a particular moment or memory.  May the year ahead be filled with love, good experiences, memories, and many friendships, old and new. Don’t forget to take a moment to appreciate the gifts you bring to the world. The world needs them.

Wishing you love, peace, and prosperity this season and all seasons ahead – The NCALC Team

With Thanks to Our Donors, Past and Present
11/06/2012

As Thanksgiving draws near, we want to take the opportunity to thank our donors who, through their contributions, offer us the means to provide additional opportunities for the persons we support to socialize, to create happy occasions and gatherings, and in some cases to invest a desirable item that enriches life in a given household.

We put a great deal of thought into investing these contributions in the manner in which both donor and recipients would find meaningful.

Thank you again…and Happy Thanksgiving! Once again in Chico we are offering an opportunity for family  and friends to gather around at the main office; check your NCALC contact for details. We’d love to see you and the extended NCALC family there.
